A falta de informes más actualizados, según datos del último anuario de 2021 de AEVI (Asociación Española de Videojuegos), ya somos más de 18,1 millones el número de videojugadores en nuestro país. Dedicamos 8,1 h semanales de media y hace dos años se vendieron 1.017.642 videoconsolas y 6.948.452 videojuegos. Con Nintendo Switch a la cabeza rozando elmediomillón de consolas, de lejos le siguió laPlayStation 5 con 275.000 unidades y las XboxSeries X|Scon 83.000 dispositivos.Si hablamos de títulos lanzados en 2021, FIFA 22 fue la estrella, seguido de Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury y Pokémon Diamante Brillante y Perla Reluciente. El Top 3 de 2022 fue para FIFA 23, Pokémon Escarlata y Púrpura y Leyendas Pokémon Arceus.

Es cierto que llevamos dos años que serán recordados por la falta de stock de la nueva generación debido a los problemas en la producción. El uso incontrolado puede derivar, de forma progresiva, en un desorden grave: el jugador obsesivo pierde el control sobre el juego y este es el que marca hasta dónde puede llegar. Además, también se ha relacionado con un mayor riesgo de desarrollar un sedentarismo nocivo.
